UFCW Local 1059 Foundation

The UFCW Local 1059 Foundation, established in 2022, is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides assistance to members and their families through education scholarships, reimbursements for childcare from credentialed providers, and reimbursements for costs associated with extra-curricular activities.

Donations to the UFCW Local 1059 Foundation are tax deductible.

Education Scholarships

UFCW Local 1059 Foundation awards fifteen $1,500 college scholarships each school year. In addition, five “Textbook” scholarships of $400 are also awarded. Each year, the top scholar is awarded the “Becky Berroyer Scholarship,” named for past Local Union President.

The Randy Quickel Student Athlete Scholarship

UFCW Local 1059 Foundation awards a $1,500 college scholarships each school year to one applicant whose application materials include a letter of commendation from a Hight School or College coach. This scholarship is awarded in honor of past Local Union President Randy Quickel.

Family Enrichment Scholarship

Family Enrichment Scholarships are $100 reimbursements for enrolling a member’s child in activities such as sports, scouting or other activities.

Childcare Scholarship

Childcare Scholarships are $750 reimbursements for licensed childcare.
